We’re excited to share that ClearCalcs has just released our new Australian Seismic Analysis Calculator, designed to streamline seismic force calculations in compliance with AS 1170.4.
What This Calculator Does:
This new tool allows you to easily calculate:
- Seismic base shear
- Lateral seismic forces acting on each storey of a building
It’s built for:
- Earthquake Design Categories (EDC) 1 and 2
- Housing structures covered by the Australian seismic code
Current Limitations:
- The calculator does not yet support EDC 3, typically covering buildings over 50 meters in height.
- We’re actively working on enhancements and are keen to prioritize features based on your feedback.
Compliant and Practical:
Whether you’re an engineer designing for low-rise housing or small commercial structures, this tool will help you confidently account for seismic loads under Australian standards — AS 1170.4.
