🚧 New Feature: Parapets in Wind Calculations

We’ve introduced support for parapets in our wind loading calculations, helping you better align with ASCE 7 provisions and real-world roof conditions.

:wrench: What’s new
You can now toggle “Include Parapets?” to activate parapet-specific inputs and outputs. When enabled, the calculator:

  • Takes a parapet height (h_parapet) input

  • Adjusts wind pressure calculations to the top of the parapet

  • Applies code-based parapet provisions automatically

  • MWFRS (Directional & Envelope): Always available

  • C&C: Available only for full-building / zone-based calculations (not effective area)

:wind_face: MWFRS parapet pressures
Includes a dedicated table with:

  • Windward: +1.5 (GCₚₙ)

  • Leeward: −1.0 (GCₚₙ)

  • Pressures calculated at parapet height using updated Kz and velocity pressure

:brick: C&C support
For applicable cases, parapet pressures are computed using:

  • ASCE 7 Eq. 30.6-1 and zone logic

  • Windward → positive wall zones (4–5)

  • Leeward → negative zones depending on load case

This update makes it easier to model parapets accurately without manual adjustments, keeping your designs consistent with code and saving time.
