Roof overhangs are now supported in both the ASCE 7-16 and ASCE 7-22 Wind Load Calculators, providing wind pressure results at overhang conditions. The tool automatically accounts for overhang-specific pressure zones and uplift effects in accordance with ASCE 7 provisions. This enhancement is available for both the Components & Cladding (C&C) method and the MWFRS – Envelope Procedure, ensuring consistent and code-compliant treatment of overhang geometry across both design approaches.
By incorporating overhangs directly into the workflow, the calculator adjusts wind pressure zones, applies the appropriate coefficients, and updates resulting pressures without requiring manual approximations.
